Privacy Policy
Society For Her ("we," "us," or "our") operates the membership platform at https://www.societyforher.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information when you use our website, waitlists, and member platform. It reflects practices implemented in our product as of the date below.
Information you provide
Depending on how you use Society for Her, you may provide: name and email address; account password (stored by our authentication provider); profile and professional information (such as city, industry, goals, bio, company, education, skills, interests, and links you choose to add); onboarding preferences (including career goals and, if you choose to share them, items such as salary expectations or work authorization); waitlist or contact form submissions; messages, community posts, comments, and notes; documents you upload (for example resumes); and billing-related identity needed to process payments.
Information collected automatically
We and our infrastructure providers may collect technical information such as IP address (for example on contact submissions and security audit logs), browser user agent, approximate device/session data needed to keep you signed in, and first-party product analytics events tied to your account (for example content views). We use session cookies for authentication and a separate admin security cookie for staff tools. We also store limited preferences in your browser (for example reading layout preferences) that are not used to track you across other websites.
How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; operate membership features (opportunities, Discover/events, community, directory, resources, missions, planner, messaging, and Socialite Strategy collection features when entitled); personalize recommendations where enabled; process payments and manage subscriptions; send transactional and (where you opt in) product emails; provide AI-assisted features; prevent abuse and improve the service; and respond to support or legal requests.
AI features
Certain features, including the AI Society Advisor and Society Blueprint generation, use artificial intelligence. Relevant prompts, chat messages, and selected account context (such as profile details, goals, and documents you share with the Advisor) may be transmitted to our AI provider (currently OpenAI) to generate responses. AI output may be inaccurate. Review important AI output before relying on it. We do not sell your personal information.
Career and opportunity features
Opportunity and Discover listings are sourced from official employer career pages, institutional calendars, and (when enabled) carefully controlled third-party event APIs. We do not sell your profile to employers as a lead-generation product. If you choose to apply to a role or register for an event, you leave Society for Her and interact directly with that third party under their terms and privacy practices.
Service providers (processors)
We use trusted providers to operate the platform, including: Supabase (authentication, database, and file storage); Stripe (payment processing — card details are handled by Stripe, not stored in our application database); Resend (transactional email); OpenAI (AI features described above); Vercel (hosting); and, for catalog freshness, public employer ATS boards and optional event/job data providers configured by us. These providers process information on our behalf under their terms and our instructions.
How information is shared
We share information with processors as needed to run the service; with other members only when you choose visibility features (for example directory profile fields you make visible — account email is not shown to other members through the directory); when required by law or to protect rights and safety; or with your direction. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
We retain account information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices and rights
You may update much of your profile in Settings and Edit profile, manage email preferences, cancel Society subscriptions through the billing portal, and delete your account in Settings (which removes associated personal data we control, subject to limited retention for billing, security, or legal needs). Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Email info@societyforher.com for privacy requests.
Children and younger users
Society for Her is built for ambitious women pursuing careers, education, business, and professional networks. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly design features for children under 13. We do not currently require users to confirm they are 18 or older as a condition of using the service. Questions about minors, parental consent, and contracts involving younger users are subject to legal review. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information to us, contact info@societyforher.com so we can delete it.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page (and, when appropriate, communicated to members). Privacy and data questions: info@societyforher.com.
